Let me say this outright: Reach is the best game in the Halo franchise, by far. Following the trend started for themselves in ODST, Reach follows a team of protagonists — Noble Team, and the ensemble cast works well, with each member of Noble Team having their own unique personality and influence on the plot. It works well, and the diversity keeps things interesting. The dire situation that the planet finds itself in makes for a compelling, gripping, and ultimately somber story dripping with conflict. A few carefully scripted in-game moments, a well rounded cast of characters, and well directed cut scenes make this the most cinematic Halo game ever. Sprint and active camo cloaking are obvious advantages that play as you would expect, but abilities like Hologram and drop shield have found themselves being used in unexpected ways both in single and multiplayer skirmishes. Armor abilities may continue to be a point of contention among veteran Halo players, but they can be turned off in custom games, and certain playlists in matchmaking will limit certain armor abilities, usually only leaving sprint, a generally included ability in most shooters. Generally, I think the addition has remained at least mostly balanced, and people have adopted it enthusiastically.

One of the fun things that the series has always done is revisit old maps. But it can get pretty confusing knowing which maps have been remade where, as Bungie always gave them a new related name. I put together a quick list of all maps released for each game link below. The columns list the maps by game includes all DLC and alternate versions , and you can go horizontally on the rows to see if and when the map has been remade.
I am really hopeful that they release them later as DLC to complete the experience! UPDATE – has released an updated list of their launch matchmaking hoppers and which game modes and maps will feature in each playlist. Thought this would be a nice companion to the list of maps I posted. You know, so you can appreciate your Halo history haha Nice work, man.
